I Just Looked Up Sue Krupa Books Reviews
This book was very inspirational. The author had a very difficult time growing up having to deal with her mother's borderline personality disorder as well as some other family difficulties. Her other siblings were able to escape their mother's grip, and yet, Sue was not able to until given an opportunity via her brother, John. Once that happened, Sue was able to begin her healing. On that journey, she had many experiences that helped her get to the point of being more self-aware and to seek out therapy. These experiences included her first marriage, her trip to Africa, which was life-changing, her sister's death, her current marriage with the birth of her children, as well as other paths during her life brought her to a place of forgiveness and being able to never want to trade her life for anyone else's. She was able to see the good in her life growing up and look up to see the light. I highly recommend it to anyone who has undergone difficult times. By doing so, one can see that it is important to overcome insecurities and difficult experiences.
I absolutely loved this book! Her ability to see the good through the many trials she has faced is nothing short of amazing. I am in awe of her beautiful outlook on life and her awe inspiring resilience. Thank you for opening your heart and sharing the many lessons you have learned through your many heart wrenching challenges. 5 stars
This book was a brutally honest and raw yet sweet story of a life that came full circle. The author's compassion, empathy and depth of understanding even in the face of abuse and torment is incredible. Her ability to not only forgive those in her life who caused her pain but to celebrate them and love them is truly astounding. Her book will inspire you and if you have a soul and heart that needs healing this book will surely help you. The interactive pages are great too. The author is also a gifted singer.
Sue Krupa is a tremendous writer with a knack for sharing her challenging story in an ultimately uplifting way. She quickly drew me in and I felt both heartbreak and compassion for her and her situation. Her ability to overcome significant pain in the face of immense loss is inspiring even after having experienced some of the most horrific circumstances of sexual abuse and a mother with severe emotional issues. The true lesson for me is how she was able to overcome these challenges and use them as strength for her life. Sue's incredible journey gives hope and strength to all who read her story. A definite must-read!
What a beautiful read. This must have been a hard book to write. But she did with such depth of understanding and growing. At the end of each chapter you are in for a delightful, moving, treat as Sue shares even more of her talents in lyrics and music. Thank you Sue. I Just Looked Up, made me look up. It is insightful. Hard to feel the emotional depth of this author but then she lifts you up. Helps the reader to heal as she herself heals with you. It is tearful and joyous. She takes you along her journey and in turn helps you with yours. Loved it!
I am not quite finished with I Just Looked Up, as I am savoring the last few pages. This book is so well written and was able to draw me in right from the beginning.
Sue gives a deeply moving and profound insight into what her life was like as a child growing up in a dysfunctional family with a parent suffering from mental illness.
I was emotional moved as I was able to identify with the writer in several of her family dilemmas that only those on the inside could know about.
I hope Sue continues to write because she has so much to offer through her thoughtful insight!!
I read this book in one sitting. I could not put it down. Holy cow. Sue Krupa's book is raw, yet sweet...but not saccharine and definitely not sugarcoated. Her personal tale of growing up in the shadow of a parent's mental illness and a sibling's abuse is ultimately one of redemption and hope. Krupa advocates patience, resilience, faith, friendships, and love to overcome hardships that would knock many people down into the depths of despair. Somehow, she not only survives; she thrives! The QR codes throughout the book were a first for me. They added a richness and depth to the story I couldn't have imagined. Krupa's musical compositions are absolutely beautiful. Her story is devastating, yet optimistic. I felled buoyed up after reading it. It's a therapeutic read for sure. Enjoy!
